Vancouver, BC, Canada, June 2023 – Bridgemans Services Group has opened a new 10-person Kitimat office at its roll on/roll off (RoRo) facility in the Kitimat/Skeena, BC region.
“Our new office reinforces our commitment to growing our business and serving more and more customers in the Kitimat/Skeena region, where we have been in the marine accommodation, transportation and construction sectors for 10 years,” said Brian Grange, president of Bridgemans.
Kuiama St-Gelais, operations manager, is responsible for running the day-to-day operations at the office and the RoRo facility, which is protected by a 122-meter (400-foot) breakwater, can accept barges up to 91 metres (300 feet) long in all weather conditions, and offers 24/7 access to the Douglas Channel.
“We are now in the process of accepting new clients,” said Mr. St-Gelais. “We are proud of our proven track record providing safe, secure and incident-free services since we started to operate in Kitimat in 2014.”
The RoRo is the only private, independent RoRo facility in the region. Canadian-flagged vessels can utilize the facility as a cost-effective alternative to others in the region that are controlled by industry. The RoRo facility offers barge and vessel handling, short or long-term laydown, and secure CCTV-controlled access.
The facility has the capacity to support loads up to 63,500 kg gross vehicle weight (GVW) and can accept heavier loads in consultation with Bridgemans engineers. The facility can also manage tractor trailers or containers and can stage them in the laydown yard with both short and long-term storage options.
