Social Responsibility

Partnerships and JVs

Bridgemans works with First Nations to create partnerships that deliver services to mutual clients, bring jobs and resources into the community, and provide training and new work skills. To date, we have worked with the Haisla Nation to form the Bridgemans Kitamaat Joint Venture, and we will provide Squamish Nation members with access to training and employment on MV Isabelle X as it serves the Woodfibre LNG project.

Health and Safety

We aim to be recognized as a global leader in health and safety. To achieve this, each Bridgemans entity creates a Safety Management System (SMS) using a corporate Integrated Management Process (IMS). This includes site-level standards for hazard mitigation, performance, and controls to prevent incidents. By working hard to work safe and stay healthy, Bridgemans earned the World Safety Organization’s Concerned Company Award in 2020 and 2021.

Diversity, equity and inclusion

We strive to cultivate a workplace and work environments that support and prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion. By doing so, all team members feel welcomed, valued and appreciated; are comfortable being their authentic selves; and feel inspired to contribute to the fullest of their abilities. Bridgemans recognizes and commits to the principles of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the safety of Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals.

Security

Bridgemans takes security very seriously. Team members sign a code of conduct that details expected standards, and we have a no-tolerance policy when it comes to physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. In addition, residents, crew and visitors are assigned a key card with a personal profile in our hotel management system while floatel access is controlled by RFID card turnstiles, monitored by an attendant.

Sustainability

At Bridgemans, we are committed to the preservation and sustainability of our oceans and the environments where we live and work. Under our Clean Oceans initiative, we have set a standard of excellence in marine preservation that extends beyond our operations and into the services we provide to our clients. Most recently, Woodfibre LNG, whose goal is Net Zero, selected Bridgemans as its floatel partner largely due to our commitment to sustainability.
