Vancouver, BC, Canada, June 26, 2024  – Bridgemans Services Group (Bridgemans) is pleased to announce that the Company and Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Works and Transport (MOWT) have renewed their agreement for cargo ferry MV Cabo Star to continue to connect Port of Spain and Scarborough until January 2026.

MV Cabo Star is a ROPAX ferry with 2,500 lane metres of covered cargo deck and offers capacity for 130 people and 300 vehicles. The vessel has been an integral support to the Trinidad and Tobago economy since starting the regularly scheduled sea bridge service between the Port of Spain and the Port of Scarborough seven years ago, in 2017. The 158-metre MV Cabo Star now makes approximately 288 round trips between the ports on the islands of Trinidad and Tobago annually, reliably transporting approximately 66,000 vehicles, 5,500 trucks and trailers, 2,500 containers and 4,100 flatbeds each year.

“We value our long-term partnerships with the MOWT and the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago to provide the sea bridge service, and we appreciate our essential role sustaining commerce between the Islands,” said Brian Grange, president, Bridgemans. “We are excited to extend the sea bridge agreement, and we look forward to continuing to serve the Islands along with their residents and businesses.”
